BuyAndSellBike is a worldwide marketplace for buying and selling motorbikes — from learner-legal 125s to full-power tourers. List your bike in minutes with photos, engine details and location, or browse listings from sellers around the world by country, brand and bike type.

Buyers pay securely through Stripe Checkout; we never see or store your card details. Sellers keep full control of their listing until it's marked sold.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, listing a bike, or completing a purchase on BuyAndSellBike, operated in Ireland, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 to create an account or complete a purchase.
• You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
• You're responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.

3. Listings

BuyAndSellBike is a venue that connects private and trade sellers with buyers — we are not a party to the sale itself and don't inspect, own, or warrant any vehicle listed.

• Sellers must own the bike or have clear authority to sell it, and must describe it accurately — condition, mileage, engine capacity, outstanding finance, and any known defects.
• Listing a stolen, misrepresented, or otherwise unlawfully-sold vehicle is a breach of these terms and may be reported to An Garda Síochána.
• Buyers are strongly encouraged to view and, where practical, have an independent inspection of a bike before completing a purchase.
• We may remove any listing that breaches these terms, misuses the category or field structure, or is reported as inaccurate.

4. Payments

Purchases are processed through Stripe Checkout. We do not store your card details — Stripe handles payment data under its own terms and PCI compliance. A listing is marked "Sold" once Stripe confirms payment; this action removes it from active search results.

5. Prohibited conduct

• No fraudulent, misleading, or duplicate listings.
• No harassment, abuse, or unsolicited commercial messages to other users.
• No attempting to circumvent, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the site or its payment flow.

6. Limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, BuyAndSellBike is not liable for the condition, legality, or roadworthiness of any vehicle listed, or for disputes between buyers and sellers, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded (for example, in respect of fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, without notice where necessary to prevent harm to other users. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after a change means you accept the update.

BuyAndSellBike, operated in Ireland, is the data controller for this site and is responsible for your personal data under the GDPR.

2. Data we collect

• Account data — name, email, phone (if provided).
• Listing data — anything you include in a bike listing, including photos.
• Messages — content of messages sent between buyers and sellers through the site.
• Payment confirmation — we receive confirmation that a payment succeeded from Stripe; we never receive or store your card number.

3. How we use your data

To operate your account, publish your listings, connect buyers and sellers, process payments, and comply with legal obligations (e.g. fraud prevention). Our legal basis is performance of the contract with you, and our legitimate interest in running a safe marketplace.

4. Who we share it with

We use processors to run the site: Stripe (payments) and Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), each acting under their own data processing terms. We don't sell your data to anyone.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and listing data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after closure to meet legal and accounting obligations. Sold listings are retained for record-keeping but removed from public search.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us using the details below, or lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission if you're not satisfied with our response.

7. Cookies

We use a minimal, functional cookie (googtrans) to remember your chosen site language, and cookies set by Stripe during checkout for fraud prevention. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
